Lõunakeskus established the Lõunakeskus foundation under Tartu Cultural Endowment. The purpose of the new foundation is to support children’s and youth sports as well as healthy lifestyle in Tartu and the rest of South Estonia.

Monetary contributions to the foundation can of course be made by everybody willing to help. The advisory board of the foundation convenes twice a year to review applications and decide how to best distribute the money.

Terms and conditions of applying for Lõunakeskus foundation grants (statute)

1. From the Lõunakeskus foundation, grants can be requested for 7 to 26-year-old children and youth in order to develop and promote sports and healthy lifestyle (exercise).

2. Grants can be requested by young people, parents, teachers, coaches, guardians. Youth under the age of 18 shall submit the application together with an adult.

3. Grant competitions take place twice a year. The amount to be distributed is disclosed upon announcement of competition. In order to obtain a grant, an application shall be submitted to Tartu Cultural Endowment by March 31 or September 30:

3.1. electronic application through the individual grants form on Tartu Cultural Endowment website http://www.kultuurkapital.ee/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=447&Itemid=168

The form should specify the child’s/youth’s prior activities and achievements, as well as the objectives of the grant, expected results, intended use of money, family size and situation. Please add a statement of learning outcomes (from e-school, study information system).

3.2. Letter of recommendation (if applicable).

4. Grants are awarded by a 6-member grant board comprising 5 representatives of the foundation and one person appointed by Tartu Cultural Endowment.

5. The board reviews the applications within three weeks from the end time of the competition.

6. Grant recipients and Tartu Cultural Endowment conclude a contract establishing the intended purpose of the grant as well as the procedure and terms of reporting.

7. The grant is exempt from income tax for the grantee.

8. The foundation Tartu Cultural Endowment announces the names of grant recipients on the Cultural Endowment website www.kultuurkapital.ee and on www.lounakeskus.com, also informing the grantees in person.
